Celebrating Advent as a Family
We parents and caring adults want to bring the beauty of our faith to our children. And at this time of year, we want to help enrich their experience of the weeks before Christmas. But what do we adults get out of it? The best thing about celebrating Advent with children is that they help us approach the season with fresh eyes and insight. We know that with busy holiday schedules and commitments, it can be a daunting idea to bring the season of Advent—of joyful waiting—into your home. Happily, you don’t have to figure it out on your own. Check out the USCCB Family Advent Calendar and use the prompts and resources (included as live links) to celebrate Advent as a family this year.
Advent & Christmas Audio Retreats: New Beginnings and Imagining the Nativity
Experience Advent in a new way this year with an audio retreat featuring sacred text reflections and prompts for personal prayer and beautiful music selections. Each year Sacred Space offers two reflective retreats, one for Advent and one for Lent, in collaboration with Pray as you go. Sacred Space (a joint apostolate of the Irish Jesuits and Loyola Press) offers daily prayer online throughout the year.
